What to consider
1. Slope and drainage
A skylight needs the right slope so rainwater drains away quickly. Flat glass collects water and dirt, and eventually leaks.
2. Glass type
Toughened or laminated glass is essential overhead. Tinted or reflective glass helps cut heat and glare in summer.
3. Frame strength
The frame has to carry the glass weight, wind and occasional hail. We use strong aluminium or steel sections sized to your span.
4. Leak-proofing
Sealed joints, proper flashing where the skylight meets the wall and a sound drainage design are what make a skylight leak-proof for years.
